VIDEO: MR’s henchmen to blame for his behaviour: Rosy

Ex-president Mahinda Rajapaksa turning aggressive cannot be blamed for the incident at the Akuressa rally because those who pushed him to make a comeback have to be blamed for such behavior, State Minister for Child and Women’s Affairs, Rosy Senanayake said.

She told a news briefing that one should have compassion on Mr. Rajapaksa because his sycophants have made him to be what he is today. “Bankrupt politicians such as Vasudeva Nananayakkara and Wimal Weerawansa should be blamed for the unpleasant fiasco.

These are the once who misled him and pushed the Mr. Rajapaksa to return to politics and thus make him a victim of the unpleasant drama that was enacted at Akuressa.

Instead he should been told to live in dignity as the head of state who ended the war,” she said. Ms. Senanayake said the video footage was not clear as to what really happened at the Akuressa rally though it shows Mr. Rajapaksa in an aggressive mood.

She revealed what the United National Front for Good Governance (UNFGG) intended doing for women if elected to office and said a special unit would be set up to investigate crime against women and set up a National Women’s Commission which will be a one-stop shop to deal with all matters pertaining to women.
