Railway Union To Take Final Decision On Trade Union Action This Evening

Four train journeys scheduled for this morning had been cancelled due to the strike.

The strike was launched at midnight yesterday over several demands and alleged failed discussions with officials.

Secretary of the Union Indika Dodangoda said, the failure to extend the service period of contracted employees was also one of the reasons for the strike.

The Locomotive Engine Drivers Union says a final stance regarding trade union action will be announced this evening.
