“UPFA Has Only One Faction”: Ex-President

 

Ex-Mahinda Rajapaksa stated that there is only one faction in the United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA), namely, the United National Party anti-UNP faction.

Speaking at the official launch of the United People’s Freedom Party (UPFA) manifesto titled “A Guarantee for the Future”, Rajapaksa stated that the UPFA was one team, unlike the UNP-led alliance.

The UNP repeatedly stresses the importance of a national government because it has already realized its impending defeat, Rajapaksa argued.

He also said that the last six months gave an excellent indication of what could happen under a UNP government. It would be disastrous to hand over the country to the UNP for 60 months, Rajapaksa said.
