Whatsapp Is Planning a Big Update Which Will Change the Way You See New Messages

It can sometimes feel as if we’re all drowning in unnecessary notifications. But now WhatsApp is preparing to offer users a simple way of cutting through the rubbish and only getting alerts they want to see. It’s reportedly working on a system called ‘Notification Channel’ which will let you sort incoming message into 10 categories, according to Android Police. Each of these categories will feature its own settings, which means you’ll be to mute ones which are annoying and make sure you see important messages. The categories include group notifications, Message Notifications, Chat History Backup, Critical App Alerts, Failure Notifications, Media Playback, Uncategorised, Other Notifications, Sending Media, and Silent Notifications.
