Uva CM Ordered to Appear Before Human Rights Commission…

The Human rights Commission initiated investigation based on complaints filed by the Centre for Human Rights and Research and the Ceylon Teachers’ Union.
On the 25th of January, evidence was noted down by the Commission from the Uva Province Secretary to the Ministry of Education, Zonal Education Director and Provincial Council employees.
The Sri Lanka Human Rights Commission has scheduled to hear and record the statement of the Uva Chief Minister, who was alleged to have made the female  principal of  the Badulla Tamil Balika Vidyalaya a   school to kneel down  before him for not respecting his letter of recommendation in a school admission matter on 1st February 2018.
Hence , human rights commission issued a notice to the Chief Minister of the Uva Province Chamara Sampath Dassanayake to be present before the Commission on the 1st of February at 9.30am.
