UNP Decided to Temporarily Remove Parliamentarian Ravi  From His Position as Assistant Leader.

The United National Party (UNP) has decided to temporarily remove Parliamentarian Ravi Karunanayake from his position as Assistant Leader.
This decision had been taken during a meeting, chaired by UNP Leader and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, held at Temple Trees yesterday (30).
This decision had been taken following the recommendations given by a three-member UNP panel which was formed to look into the report of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry (PCoI) which investigated the issuance of Treasury Bonds.The Committee has also recommended, not only stripping the MP of his Party position, but also to desist from allowing him to take part in public events organized by the UNP until the dust settles in terms of the situation pertaining to the Bond Scam Report. The Committee Report was handed over to the Premier by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, President’s Counsel Tilak Marapana.
