Election Commission Directed to Grant No-Pay Leave to Non Staff Grade Employees of the Public Service Contesting LG Elections……

As per earlier circular issued by the Election Commission, those who were receiving basic salary of Rs 18,940 on 01.06.2007 were not qualified to obtain no-pay leave and contest LG election.

According to the Public Administration circular  No;32/2017, secondary level Management Assistants, Monitoring Management  Assistants, Combined Service Officers, Ceylon Teachers Service, Nurses, who are not recognized as staff officers. Followed by this circular, Election Commission has sent a circular to all Heads of Departments directing them to grant no-pay leave to those non staff grade employees contesting the Local government elections.
