Deadline to Submit Application to Obtain Temporary IDs Ends Today

 The 2018 Local Authority Election is scheduled to be held on the 10th of February.

Voters who are not in possession of a valid form of identity was advised to obtain the special ID card issued by the Commission in order to establish their identity at the polling station. Application forms for the special identity cards can be obtained from the Grama Seva officer or from a Superintendent of the Estate. The completed application form should be handed over to the Grama Seva officer or to an Estate Superintendent along with the 2 photographs.

The Elections Commission has announced that the acceptance of applications to obtain a special identity card for the 2018 Local Authority Election, issued by the Commission, will conclude today.

The Commission said the special identity cards will be issued to the relevant applicants before the election.
