Stern Legal Action Against Any Election Candidates Who Continue in Propaganda Activities After Midnight

Stern legal action will be carried out against any election candidates who continue in propaganda activities after midnight, the Police Headquarters said.
Accordingly legal action will sought against perpetrators under the Local  Government Elections Ordinance and Police Ordinance.
Accordingly all campaigning activities in public after midnight will be prohibited. The regulation will be in effect until Sunday the 11th of February.
However candidates may continue to engage in campaigning activities from 6am this morning to 9pm tonight, though a limit of a maximum of 11 members of any campaigning team may engage in said activities.
Furthermore Police also stated during campaigning activities groups are prohibited from displaying propaganda whilst travelling on roads and distributing flyers to the general public.
Police stated accordingly steps would be taken against candidates if they arrive in the company of intoxicated persons.
Further Police Headquarters said therefore even if such a candidate were to obtain victory at the election, their seat could be subject to forfeiture in view of the relevant charges against them.
