Gota’s Case Will Be Heard Before the Appeals Court Today       

The interim order was issued and extended until the 15th of February following a petition filed by former Secretary of Defence Gotabhaya Rajapaksa and accordingly it was decided at the last hearing to reconsider the case today(14).

He is charged of misappropriating a sum of 91 million rupees for the construction of the DA Rajapaksa Museum in Hambantota.

The former Secretary of Defence had filed a petition calling for court to prevent his arrest under the relevant act.

The stay order preventing action against Gotabhaya under the Public Properties Act is due to be taken up for consideration once again before the Appeals Court today.
