Enjoining Order against SLFP CC Meetings Extended

 

The Colombo District Court (DC) today extended an enjoining order, stating that the convening of Sri Lanka Freedom Party Central Committee (SLFPCC) meetings without prior approval of the party Chairman President Maithripala Sirisena until August 7.

The District Court issued this order initially on July 15 following a petition by Prasanna Solangaarachchi.

The events developed following the convening of Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) Central Committee by its General Secretary Anura Priyadarshana Yapa on July 15.

The president cancelled the meeting within hours.
