Support Building up for No-Confidence Motion Against Ranil

While Joint Opposition kept silence after their attempt to remove Ranil Wickramasinghe from the post of Prime Minister, new revolts have come up from his own UNP party. State Ministers of the UNP Ranga Bandara and Wasntha Senanayake openly expressed that they are working to bring a no confidence motion with the support of some frustrated UNP back benchers.
In response JO members welcomed the move by UNP MPs and assured their support. JVP declared that they would support a no confidence motion against the Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe. JVP Bimal Ratnayake in an interview to the BBC confirmed their support for the no confidence motion.
At the same time, opposition leader R. Sampanthan said, that if such no-confidence motion is brought to it, the decision will be taken only after the no confidence motion is moved.
Will the Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe survive?
