US State Department Issues Security Warning to US Citizens in Srilanka

Having taken into consideration the recent racially motivated violence against Muslims in Srilanka  , the US State Department issued a security warning to all US citizens currently in Sri Lanka.

The Security alert issued read thus  “The Sri Lankan government declared a State of Emergency and curfews have been imposed in some regions, including Kandy  Administrative District, due to communal unrest. Further incidents  possible over the next few days. Monitor local media for updates”.
