161 Suspects Arrested in Kandy.

230 people were arrested in connection to the events which occurred in Kandy and other areas, Police said. According to the Police Spokesperson ASP Ruwan Gunasekara, 161 suspects out of the 230 were arrested from Kandy.

ASP Gunasekara confirmed that the situation in the Kandy Administrative district is calm and peaceful at present. However, in a bid to ensure security, the Police, STF and Tri-Forces will be deployed in the relevant areas.

In the meantime, Police has requested Kandy residents to file complaints on damage caused to property in the recent incidents.
