Steps to Reduce Train Accidents to be Launched

National Council for Road Safety said so far this year, 35 persons have died in train accidents and 24 of them were those who attempted to take selfies. The data indicated that in 2017, 955 persons had died in train accidents.
A special programme aiming to reduce train accidents is scheduled to be launched today (12) in Navinna, Maharagama by National Council for Road Safety.
Under this programme notice boards will be fixed nearby railway crossings and rail tracks to improve awareness among the masses.
