Two Officers Attached to Department of Ayurveda Arrested

Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption has arrested two officers attached to Department of Ayurveda in Maharagama for soliciting a bribe of Rs. 50,000.

They were arrested yesterday (14).

It was found that the suspects had demanded a bribe of Rs. 300,000 from an Ayurvedic product manufacturing company to approve a product to be marketed.

They have agreed to reduce it to Rs. 250,000 and the Bribery Commission officials arrested them while they were obtaining Rs. 50,000.
