Government Printer to Publish Gazette Notification  Today

Government Printer sources said, that the gazette notification which includes elected member list of the local government bodies will be published today (15).

The Head of Government Printer, Ms Ganga Kalpani Liyanage confirmed that the proofread document has already been sent for printing. She further added the gazette notification is due to be published backdated to the 9th of March in all three languages.

As per the requirement of the Ministry of Provincial Councils and Local Government, the elected member meeting must be called within 7 days once the gazette notification is been published.

The Gazette will include 8356 member names with the 25% of female members as required by the Elections Commission.
