Evidence Recording of Nissanka & Palitha Fernando Before Court on 26th of July
The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption filed the case against Nissanka Senadhipathi and Major General Palitha Fernando over charges of attempting to solicit a bribe amounting to 35.5 million rupees from the Maritime Security service to maintain a floating armoury.
When the case is pending Nissanka Senadhipathi and Major General Palitha Fernando made applications to lift the travel ban imposed on both of them.
Court today ordered the evidence hearing of the bribery case against the Nissanka Senadhipathi and Major General Palitha Fernando to commence on the 26th of July.
Notices were issued to the witnesses to appear before court on the 26th of July for the evidence hearing.
Further Colombo High Court Judge R Gurusinghe ordered to lift the overseas travel ban imposed on the two suspects till the commencement of the evidence hearing
