Ranil to Relinquish UNP Leadership from Tomorrow?

UNP sources said, Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe will make a special announcement tomorrow (24) about his UNP leadership position. He is expected to announce his decision on his 69th birthday to be celebrated tomorrow (24).

 Ranil Wickramasinghe held the UNP leadership more than two decades and heeded to request of other senior UNP members to relinquish his leadership and hand over it to another leader. Most probably Sajith Premadasa tipped to take over the leadership.

However, Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe has decided to remain as Prime Minister in the remaining two years of good governance.
