Stay Order Preventing Action Against Gotabhaya Extended

Gotabhaya Rajapaksa is charged of misappropriating a sum of 91 million rupees for the construction of the DA Rajapaksa Museum in Hambantota.
The stay order was issued on the 19th of November after taking into consideration a petition calling filed by the former Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa. Time to time the stay order was extended in the past.
The Court of Appeal today decided to extend the Stay Order preventing action against former Secretary of Defence Gotabhaya Rajapaksa under the Public Properties Act till the 6th of April. Meanwhile the final decision pertaining to the stay order will be issued on the 5th of April.
The order was issued by a panel of Appeals Court judges including Chairman Preethi Padman Surasena.
