Mahindananda’s Petition to Hear His Case by Another Judge Postponed to May 15th

A  writ petition filed by Former Minister Mahindananda  Aluthgamage requesting an order to prevent the bribery case filed against him being heard before High Court Judge Gihan Kulatunga  was taken up for inquiry in the Court of Appeal today( 5th).
The writ petition was heard before a judge bench consisting of Judges S. Thurairaja and Kumudini Wickremesinghe.
The Court of Appeal today decided to issue notice to the party concerned and postponed the case to 15th may 2018.
During the previous case hearing, President’s Counsel Faiszer Musthapha representing the petitioners said, the Judge scheduled to hear the case against the petitioner was a member of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry to Investigate and Inquire into Serious Acts of Fraud, Corruption and Abuse of Power, State Resources and Privileges.
