President Request SLFP Ministers Not to Quit the  Government : SB

During the vote, 16 SLFP Ministers, Deputy Ministers and State Ministers voted in favour of the no confidence motion along with the Join Opposition which moved the motion.

Along with the Labour and Trade Union Relations Minister John Seneviratne others met the President and discussed about the cause of action to be taken in future by them. The SLFP MPs led by Minister John Seneviratne expressed their  desire to relinquish their ministerial portfolios. John Seneviratne  said he and his colleagues voted for the motion in keeping with a decision taken by the party as a whole.

President Maithripala Sirisena said to have  asked the SLFP Ministers and Deputy Ministers, who voted in favour of  the no-confidence motion not to quit the government, Social Empowerment and Welfare Minister S.B. Dissanayake confirmed it to the press.
