Weather Forecast for 07th April 2018

Due to a low level atmospheric disturbance in the vicinity of Sri Lanka, showery condition is expected to enhance, particularly in the Eastern, Uva and southern provinces and in the eastern, southeastern and southern sea areas.

Showers or thundershowers will occur in the Southern, Uva and Eastern provinces and Matale and Polonnaruwa districts.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places elsewhere after 2.00 p.m.
Heavy falls above 100mm can be expected at some places in the Eastern, Southern, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces and Matale district.

Misty conditions can be expected at some places in the Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces during the morning.

There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.

On the apparent northward relative motion of the sun, it is going to be directly over the latitudes of Sri Lanka during 05th to 15th of April in this year. The nearest areas of Sri Lanka over which the sun is overhead today (07th), are Moratuwa, Polgasowita, Handapangoda, Kiragala, Bogawanthalawa and Kodinarawa about 12:12 noon.
