Introduction of Electronic Card for Travelling in Srilanka

The Srilanka Transport commission, Central Bank, General Treasury and Lanka Com have jointly taken steps to introduce electronic cards to travelers in Srilanka. It is being prepared by these organizations.

Once this card come into operation, one has to buy an electronic card and use it as and when he/she travels in train and  SLTB or private  bus in Srilanka. Every time he/she travels, relevant charges get reduced from the account. This will solve the problem of obtaining the balance and carrying cash during travelling, said national Transport chairman, M.G.P.Hemachandra.
