May 7th Declared as a Holiday For Public & Private Sector Employees

The government of Srilanka heeding to requests made by  Maha Sangha changed May day celebrations from May 1^st  to 7th of May.  There is an ambiguity regarding may day holiday.

The Commissioner General of Labour, A. Wimalaweera says, 7th of May has been declared as a holiday for Government employees as well as for employees of private sector, semi-government institutes and other statutory bodies.
