Ceylon Electricity Board Recorded a Loss of Rs 45.7 Billion

The Central Bank said, that the Ceylon Electricity Board has incurred a loss of Rs. 45.7 billion in the year of 2017.
The figures were released in the recently unveiled Central Bank annual report. According to the report, the loss has risen by Rs. 32.5 billion from the loss of Rs. 13.2 billion recorded in 2016.
A reduction in hydro-electricity production leading up to a higher dependency of liquid fuel generated electricity has greatly contributed to this, the report added.
