UNP Backbenchers Insist to File Charges Against Ravi Within Two Weeks

Several backbenchers of the UNP have alleged that no action has been taken even after four months of submitting the report by the presidential commission that inquired into the Central Bank bond sale was sent to the Attorney General’s Department on January 05.
Further, they expressed their dissatisfaction about the way the Attorney  General’s Department  delayed action on this matter. They made this complaint to  the Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe on May 6
The backbenchers decided to ask the president and the Prime Minister to file charges, if any, against assistant leader of the party Ravi Karunanayake within two weeks.
If it fails to take action against him within two weeks, the PM should take a political decision on whether Karunanayake should be given a ministerial position, they also told him.
