Golden Peacock Lifetime Medal to be Valued….

The Golden Peacock Lifetime medal award presented by India to Dr. Lester James Peries for his film Gamperaliya went missing from his home during the funeral proceedings on 2nd of May.

Then police launched a massive operation and the medal was found being abandoned in the private bus. Subsequently Police arrested 6 suspects in this connection. The Additional Magistrate Daminda Weligodapitiya remanded  all 6 suspects .

It has also been decided that a case will be filed against the suspects at the High Court.

Hence, it has to be valued. Police said that the medal which was recovered on Saturday (5) will be handed over to the National Gem and Jewellery Authority to obtain an estimate of its value.
