New Cabinet Meets Today

The protocol normally followed to conduct cabinet meetings on Tuesdays. As the inauguration of the new session of Parliament took place yesterday, the Cabinet meeting was rescheduled for today.

The cabinet is scheduled to meet for the first time today (May 09) since the recent cabinet reshuffle

At today’s cabinet meeting priority will be given regarding the future steps to be taken by the Good Governance Government. In addition, attention will also be drawn to the issue concerning the Deputy Speaker post fell vacant following the resignation of MP Thilanga Sumathipala last month.

The Parliament is also scheduled to meet at 1 pm today.
