Special Commodity Levy on Imported Dhal increased
The Special Commodity Levy on dhal has been increased with effect from midnight yesterday (9).
According to the Ministry of Finance, the Commodity Levy on a kilogram of split red lentils which was at 3 rupees has been increased to 12 rupees. The Special Commodity Levy on a kilogram of whole red lentils has been increased from 1 rupee to 7 rupees.
The Finance Ministry said, that the prices would be increased in accordance with the increase of dhal prices in the International market. The new levy revision will be effective for 6 months, Ministry said.
