Judicature (Amendment) Bill Passed in Parliament

The second reading of the Judicature Amendment Bill passed in Parliament with amendments.

The Bill was passed with 119 Members of Parliament voting in favor and 52 voting against. Amendments to the Bill were presented during the committee stage and was passed without a vote.

The 16 SLFP Ministers who resigned from the government voted against the bill.
