May 18 Declared as a Day of Mourning by NPC
May 18 is the date on which the war in Sri Lanka ended in 2009.
During 122nd session of the Northern Provincial Council , TNA Northern Province Minister Anandhi Sasidharan presented a resolution seeking to declare May 18 as a day of mourning in the province.
Followed by this, a resolution was passed to declare a day of mourning on 18th May . The resolution was unanimously approved in the Northern Provincial Council.
