Viral Flu Took Another Child’s Live

As a result of the viral flu which is being spread in the Southern region, another small child has died at the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital.

The child who was aged less than one year had been admitted to Karapitiya Teaching Hospital with fever.

Already 400 persons with viral fever are being treated in hospitals in the South and 215 of them are being treated at Karapitiya, Matara and Hambantota hospitals.

The Director of Health Services in the Southern Province G. Wijesuriya said that the victim was suffering from a heart ailment from birth.

With this death, 8 children had died at the KTH since April.

The Health authorities say altogether 14 persons including 12 children died at the Southern region due to viral fever.
