Department of Railways Lodged a Complaint With the CID

The Department of Railways has lodged a complaint with the Criminal Investigations Department requesting an investigation into damages caused to property during the strike launched by Railway Technical Services Trade Unions.

Additional General Manager of Operations Dr. Wijaya Samarasinghe said 3 diesel trolley engines in Maradana, a train signal network in Lunuwila and several power lines have been damaged.

In the meantime, the Railway Technical Services Trade Union Committee has denied charges that its members damaged property belonging to the Department of Railways.
