‘UNP  Leader Ranil Wickremasinghe As Presidential Candidate Of 2020’ – Akila Viraj

The UNP will field its leader Ranil Wickremasinghe  as the Presidential Candidate of 2020, UNP General Secretary Akila Viraj Kariyawasam said.

No other candidate including former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa would pose a formidable threat to the UNP leader at the Presidential election.

“We told the public that our candidate would win the Presidential election of 2015 and it happened. Similarly, our candidate will win the Presidential election in 2020,” he added during a press brief.

Kariyawasam made this remarks while launching a statement titled ‘Saththaya’ published by the UNP.
