CEB Engineers Threaten a Work to Rule Campaign

Among other demands they citied the Public Utilities Commission’s failure to approve CEB’s Long-term Power Generation Plan as the main cause forced them to trade union action.

Hence, Ceylon Electricity Board’s Engineers’ Union says they will again stop attending to emergency repairs and maintenance work from this afternoon (Jun 11), if their demands are not addressed.

They moved out of attending to emergency work from last Wednesday afternoon. However, later they agreed to suspect that action after authorities agreed to approve the plan.

But they say since it is being delayed again, they will recommence their trade union action from this afternoon.
