Postal Strike Continues

The Postal Trade Unions Front launched strike 5 days ago demanding to put in place a recruitment procedure specifically tailored for the Postal Department and to ensure job security of the Acting Assistant Post Masters.
As a result of the ongoing strike by the postal workers 1,000 airmail sacks have piled up at the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake, The Joint Postal Trade Union Front said.
The Postal Department said they were earning Rs. 150 million to 180 million on a daily basis and added since the start of the strike that the Department has failed to earn any revenue.
