Removal of Yellow Robes of BBS Gnanasara Thera without Sanga Saba Approval Wrong.

BBS Gnanasara Thera is serving one year rigorous prison sentence to be ended at the end of six months. He was found guilty in the case, where he threatened Mrs.Ekneligoda with death in court premises. His lawyers have submitted appeal against the sentence, which is pending.

Meanwhile, prison authorities said to have removed his yellow robes. Kotte Sri Kalyani Samakridharma Maha Sanga Saba has registered their protest against this act to the Ministry of Justice. In their protest letter, they stated removal of yellow robes of Gnanasara Thera without the approval of the Sanga Saba is wrong and not acceptable.

Chief Registrar of the Kotte Sri Kalyani Samakridharma Maha Sanga Saba, Prof.Kottepitiye Rahula Thera has sent this letter of protest to the Ministry of Justice.
