With The Fall Of Bo Tree The Chief Incumbent Who Was Overseas Had Passed Away!

One of the oldest Bo trees aged around 150 years in the Chi law area at the Chi law, Devagiri Viharaya had collapsed on June 21 in the evening, but no damage was caused to the main structure.   Coinciding within 48 hours of the incident, the chief incumbent of the temple Ven. Kobaigane Seelarathana Thera had also passed away, in USA it was reported.
Ven. Kobaigane Seelarathana Thera had also served as the head of the Devagiri Viharaya Daham Pasala at Chilaw.The Ven. Thera who was 45-years of age had been at the Sri Rathana International Buddhist Center, Anaheim, USA at the time he heard the news of the Bo tree collapsing. Followed by the news, he fell sick.  Although the Chief Incumbent of the Sri Rathana International Buddhist Center, Ven. Bogolle Sumana Thera had taken immediate measures to get treatment for him, he had passed away yesterday morning (24).
Meanwhile measures have been taken to bring down the remains of the Ven. Seelarathana Thera to Sri Lanka.
