Southern Underworld Members Flee To Neighbouring Countries.

The STF launched operations in Galle, Matara, Elpitiya, and Tangalle police divisions after underworld activities increased in those areas.

Security sources say that under world members linked to Southern Province underworld activities have fled to neighbouring countries.

Followed by a special operations being carried out by the STF in the Southern province they fled the country, a high ranking police STF officer said.

The officer confirmed that attempts to contain underworld activities in the Western and Southern provinces have been successful to a greater extent.
