Elections Commission Expenditure Increases by 240 Million Rupees

The expenditure of the national elections commission has increased by 240 million in the last year. 30 million rupees was expended over the printing of voter’s lists on an institutional basis for the local government elections held last year. Further, the 130 million rupees had been expended for the preparation of the voters list.
A spokesperson for the elections commission noted that due to the recurrent expenses of the preliminary process of the election, which amounted 210 million rupees, the expenditure had increased last year.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the elections commission noted that the expenses for the provincial council elections is yet to be calculated, and the upcoming provincial council elections would be held according to a mechanism approved in parliament.
