CCTV to Be Installed in Colombo near Garbage Dumping Points…….

The Colombo Municipal Council has decided to install CCTV cameras in garbage collection points in Colombo.

The tenders called for the installation of CCTV cameras in the respective locations have already been called, said the Colombo Municipal Councillor Lalith Wickramaratne.

He said that about 50 tons of garbage will be collected in Colombo daily.

Non separated garbage is a problem for the municipality.

Meanwhile, the Police Environmental Unit officials have been deployed for 24 hours to find illegal waste disposal dumped by people, the Municipal Commissioner said.
