Clean-Up Program for Beira Lake

A cleaning up program of the banks of the Beira Lake organized by the NO KUNU team to be launched at Gangarama Seema Malakaya from 8 a.m. on 21st July.

This campaign will be launched under the group leadership of Ven. Galaboda Gnanissara Thera (Podi Hamuduruwo of Gangaramaya), Mayoress Rosy Senanayake, Commander of Navy Sirimewan Ranasinghe, and the Chairman of Sri Lanka Ports Authority Dr. Parakrama Dissanayake. The 12 km-long Beira banks has been divided into half kilometer stretches for this purpose.

According to the founder of the NO KUNU initiative, Retired Engineer Ms. Sumi Moonesinghe, they have requested many institutions to volunteer to clean the banks of Beira and Colombo Municipal Council teams are ready to assist clean-up operations.
