Train strike called off [UPDATE]

(FASTNEWS|COLOMBO) – UPDATE: The Railway Trade Union collective announced they have decided to call off their planned-strike following discussions with Authorities.

(FASTNEWS|COLOMBO) – The Collective of Railway Trade Unions including the Locomotive Engineering Operators’ Union have decided to launch a 48-hour token strike from midnight today (30), over several demands including concerns surrounding salary anomalies.

Meanwhile the Unions warned that will resort to an indefinite strike in the future, if the Authorities failed to address their demands.
