Showers expected after 2.00 PM – Met. Department

(FASTNEWS|COLOMBO) – Showers or thundershowers will occur at few places Northern, Eastern, Uva and North-Central Provinces and in Nuwara Eliya District after 2.00 PM, the Department of Meteorology said.

Fairly strong gusty winds up to (40 – 50) kmph can be expected in Hambantota and Matale Districts.

On the apparent southward relative motion of the sun, it is going to be directly over the latitudes of Sri Lanka during 28 August and 07 September in this year. The nearest towns of Sri Lanka over which the sun is overhead today (31) are Musalkutti, Tudarikkulam, Kudagama, Mediyawa and Mankanai about 12.10 noon.
