“Stop door-to-door Campaign after 7 pm” – Election Commissioner urges

 

Election Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya requested all election candidates to stop door to door canvassing after 7PM.

He pointed out such visits in the night could lead to unnecessary clashes.

However there is no bar to hold election rallies and the use of loud speakers would depend on the permission given by the police station in charge of the respective area.

Meanwhile, the candidates who are selected by each political party to observe the preferential vote counting process would be allowed to enter the counting centers.
