Island-wide curfew lifted [UPDATE]

(FASTNEWS|COLOMBO) – An overnight curfew imposed quiet in capital city Colombo, before it was lifted on Thursday morning (25).

The Government of Sri Lanka yesterday (24) decided to re-impose an island-wide Police curfew from 10.00 last night till 4.00 this morning.

A curfew was imposed following the bombings which killed 359 people and injured hundreds of others in a series of explosions across Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday, one of the most sacred days of the year for Christians.

A series of eight explosions in the island country during Easter celebrations on Sunday targeted Churches, hotels and also an area close to the capital’s Zoological Garden and near Dematagoda, Colombo’s suburb.
