69 patients still receiving in-house treatment

(FASTNEWS|COLOMBO) – The Ministry of Health says a total of 69 persons who sustained injuries in the Easter Sunday attacks, are still receiving in-house treatment at hospitals island-wide.

Director General of Health Services Anil Jasinghe said 17 individuals are being treated at Intensive Care Units.

A total of 44 persons are being treated at the Colombo National Hospital with 13 of them in the ICU.

11 persons are receiving treatment at Negombo General Hospital while five injured persons are receiving treatment at the Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children.

According to Health Services Director General Anil Jasinghe nine injured persons remain at the Batticaloa General hospital with four at the ICU.

A total of 469 persons were admitted to hospitals island-wide following the Easter Sunday bombings.

42 foreigners are also confirmed dead as of yesterday. Health Services Director General Anil Jasinghe noted that 246 corpses out of the 253 individuals confirmed dead in the explosions have been handed over to relatives.

Bodies of seven foreigners have not been handed over to next-of-kin.
