SLFP to form a separate wing

(FASTNEWS|COLOMBO) – The Movement for the protection of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party says a new political program will be launched next week by sidelining the SLFP hierarchy.

The SLFP new political wing will be launched under the patronage of former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga next week.

Speaking to a prominent online news portal in the isle, the Convener of the Movement Dilanga Weerakoon said the President’s contradictory political statements have forced them to seek a new political movement.

The Convener noted President Maithripala Sirisena had been indecisive as the Chairman of the Party.

Weerakoon added when former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga returns to the country, discussions will be held with her, as well as other party representatives of Pradeshiya Sabhas, Municipal Councils, Organizers of electorates, former Provincial Council members and organizers removed from the party to form a separate wing.
