Premier calls for Ranjan’s explanation

(FASTNEWS|COLOMBO) – Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has called for an explanation from the State Minister Ranjan Ramanayake before 21 July with regard to certain statements made by Ramanayake during an interview regarding the Buddhist clergy.

In a letter to Ramanayake, the Prime Minister noted that the United National Party (UNP) rejects the opinion expressed by the State Minister as his views contradict the views of the UNP leadership and the Party.
